The Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project

There is still time to participate in the Sketchbook Project, an ever-growing, world-travelling collection of artists' books from around the globe.  Sign up and you'll receive an empty book to fill with whatever you can imagine.

Pick a theme, tell us about your book, mail it in, and we'll take it on tour to share it with thousands more people. In 2012 over 30,000 sketchbooks were viewed in 14 cities. Don't miss out on being a part of this entirely unique experience and signing up to add your book to our collection. It will be fun, we swear!

This is an open call for participation.
Sign-up deadline: October 31st

About the Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project is a mobile library of artists’ sketchbooks contributed by thousands of creative people from across the globe. It encourages creative people from diverse backgrounds — working artists, full-time parents, busy professionals, students — to share their process with each other and the public. Participants sign up online to receive a blank sketchbook, then fill it with artwork and mail it back. The results are cataloged in the Brooklyn Art Library's permanent collection, displayed online in the Digital Library, and exhibited at art spaces from coast to coast. The collection as a whole includes over 22,000 books from over 130 countries and growing.
